FUNDING of more than £1.17million is being made available to local voluntary and community organisations over the next three years. Lichfield District Council said the pot would be its “biggest-ever” investment in the sector. The initiative builds on the local authority’s previous fund of £787,000 which supported 14 local organisations to deliver projects and services to make a difference to local communities. Cllr Richard Cox, cabinet member for community and public protection, said:“Our voluntary and community organisations are one of Lichfield district’s greatest strengths. “This is our biggest-ever investment in the sector because we know that by working together we can achieve even more for residents across Lichfield district.
