The Ghana Gold Board (GoldBod) has strongly denied viral claims that it lost GH¢200 million to Dominic Bonsu Ventures, insisting the allegations are false and intended to undermine its ongoing enforcement actions.
The board also rejected reports that Dominic Bonsu, the proprietor of the company, once served as the personal bodyguard of GoldBod Chief Executive Sammy Gyamfi.
It stressed that neither Dominic Bonsu nor his company had received GH¢200 million or any other funds from the board.
According to GoldBod, Dominic Bonsu Ventures had its licence suspended after investigators detected suspected breaches of its licence conditions and the GoldBod Trading Directives under the Ghana Gold Board Act, 2025 (Act 1140).
The board said Dominic Bonsu was subsequently arrested and remanded into lawful custody by the High Court in Accra, where legal proceedings remain ongoing.
