ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – Heat advisories remain in effect until 8 p.m. for northwestern, central and much of northeastern New Mexico as highs reach the upper 90s to low 100s.
Most of New Mexico will remain dry Monday, with isolated to scattered thunderstorms favoring Silver City, the Gila Mountains, Raton and Clayton.
Temperatures will drop 5 to 15 degrees Tuesday across Raton, Las Vegas, Clayton, Tucumcari and Clovis.
Storms will develop along a line from northeastern New Mexico through the central mountains and into southwestern New Mexico.
Tuesday evening, thunderstorm-cooled air will move off the Sandia and Manzano mountains and should help trigger more storms across Albuquerque, Rio Rancho, Los Lunas and Belen.
