ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – Piedra Vista High School baseball coach Jeff Kiraly died in a Colorado motorcycle crash just two months after leading the Panthers to a 5-A state title. Friends across New Mexico are remembering Kiraly for his impact on and off the baseball field. Kiraly played at La Cueva High School, reached the minor leagues and later became head baseball coach at Piedra Vista High School in Farmington. Colorado State Patrol said Kiraly died in a crash Friday on U.S. 550 in southern Colorado. Pineda, the La Cueva High School baseball head coach, said many of his memories with Kiraly go back to when they played baseball together at La Cueva.
