Udhayanidhi Stalin, a senior DMK leader, was arrested on Tuesday, August 4, 2026, after a complaint accused him of making sexist remarks during a public meeting in Thanjavur. Based on the complaint, the police registered a case against Udhayanidhi Stalin under several sections of the law. DMK supporters gathered at the location and protested against the police action. Subramanian and Udhayanidhi Stalin’s wife, Krithika Udhayanidhi, were also present and questioned the police action. After the arrest, Udhayanidhi Stalin is expected to be taken to Thanjavur, where further legal procedures and investigation will continue.
