Lenovo appears to be preparing a two-device Googlebook assault on the Windows PC market, with new leaks revealing a premium 15-inch laptop and a Surface-style 2-in-1 tablet that could be unveiled at IFA next month. The leaked Googlebook 15 features a slim aluminium-style chassis, narrow display bezels and prominent Googlebook branding beneath the keyboard. A dedicated Google ‘G’ key replaces the traditional Windows key and is expected to provide direct access to Gemini, while another key appears to act as an app launcher. Lenovo is also reportedly preparing a detachable Googlebook tablet with a rear kickstand, removable keyboard and magnetic stylus, placing it in direct competition with Microsoft’s Surface range. As ChannelNews previously reported, Googlebook devices are expected to reach Australian retailers during the fourth quarter, with Acer, ASUS, Dell, HP and Lenovo among the first partners.
