Astronomers Find Ancient Black Holes Shining With the Power of a Trillion Suns
['Sovina Olle', 'Ralph Johnson']
SciTechDaily
Each radiated with the power of roughly a trillion Suns when the cosmos was just 5% of its present age.
They are the earliest quasars yet observed and belong to a group of 31 ancient quasars newly identified by Euclid.
Finding them could help explain how galaxies and supermassive black holes became so large so soon after the Universe began.
