The 26-year-old Garcia came through in the clutch for his new team, belting a two-run home run in the seventh inning of Monday night's game against the St. Louis Cardinals at Yankee Stadium in the Bronx. New York acquired the hard-hitting Garcia in exchange for Jake Bird, Yovanny Cruz, Jack Cebert and Ben Grable. Before the trade, Garcia was hitting .283 for the Nationals, with 23 home runs and a .560 slugging percentage that led the National League.
