NHS South West is encouraging people to ensure that they and their families are up to date with routine vaccinations.
"Immunisation Awareness Month is a helpful reminder to check whether you, your child or someone you care for is up to date with their routine vaccinations."
The NHS offers routine vaccinations free of charge at different stages of life.
If unsure about a child’s vaccination status, parents can check their Red Book, use the NHS App, or speak to their GP.
Teenagers are also offered further vaccines, including the HPV vaccine and booster shots, usually administered at school.
