Vijayawada: Special Investigation Team (SIT) probing the alleged ₹1,000-crore liquor scam during the previous YSRCP regime arrested key accused Eshwar Kiran Kumar Reddy soon after he arrived at Rajiv Gandhi International Airport in Hyderabad from Dubai. According to officials, Kiran Kumar Reddy had left India for Dubai in November 2024 after the coalition government initiated a probe into the alleged liquor scam. Sources said Kiran Kumar Reddy recently approached the Supreme Court seeking anticipatory bail. Investigators describe Kiran Kumar Reddy as a key figure in both the liquor transportation scam and the Enforcement Directorate (ED) investigation linked to the case. A native of Tirupati, Kiran Kumar Reddy is the son of a police constable and studied engineering at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Kharagpur.
