Ukraine plans to launch a new Carpathian Initiative this autumn, bringing together eight countries, including the Czech Republic and Slovakia, RBK-Ukraine reported, citing President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. The initiative aims to boost cooperation in economic development, security and logistics, with culture and tourism to be added later. The planned members are Ukraine, Romania, Austria, Serbia, Hungary, Poland, the Czech Republic and Slovakia. Zelenskyy said the project would allow countries unable to provide military aid to support Ukraine through humanitarian assistance, security, economic cooperation and post-war reconstruction, demonstrating confidence that the country will achieve peace. He added that the launch date is still under discussion.
