Pembrey Country Park, Llyn Llech Owain Country Park, and Mynydd Mawr Woodland Park have once again achieved Green Flag Award status, which recognises parks that are welcoming, safe, well-maintained, and managed to high environmental standards. Hazel Evans, deputy leader of Carmarthenshire County Council and cabinet member for regeneration, leisure, culture, and tourism, said: "We are delighted that Pembrey Country Park, Llyn Llech Owain Country Park and Mynydd Mawr Woodland Park have once again been recognised with Green Flag Awards. Mynydd Mawr Woodland Park in the Amman Valley is known for its scenic woodland walks, panoramic views, and a focus on the area's industrial heritage and environmental recovery. Pembrey Country Park features extensive woodlands and eight miles of sandy beach at Cefn Sidan. Green Flag status was awarded this year to 93 sites across Wales, while a further 237 received the Green Flag Community Award.
