The investment, with a total gross cost of 30 million forints, is 100 percent financed from EU funds under the Horizon 2020 REALLOCATE project, in cooperation with the Metropolitan Municipality, Budapest Közút, and the Budapest Transport Centre. However, there are problems that need to be addressed as soon as possible and cannot wait until the Nagykörút is fully rebuilt. Along József körút, the cycle lane already runs on the carriageway for the most part; the intervention concerns three short sections where cycling is currently routed along the pavement. As part of the development, new parking and loading spaces will also be created on József körút, which will assist local residents and businesses and improve the overall order of the public space. As a result, 14 parking spaces will be relocated from Baross utca to Nagykörút.
