"We advise people to check our traffic and travel information channels, set off early and allow plenty of time." The M5 is expected to be particularly busy at junction 19 (Portishead) and 21 (Weston-super-Mare), with southbound traffic using the A369 and northbound traffic using the A370 to reach the event. National Highways will offer real-time travel information on its website, via X (@HighwaysSWEST) and through its information line on 0300 123 5000. The Balloon Fiesta is one of Europe’s largest hot air balloon festivals, attracting around half a million visitors each year.
