Electrocentrale București (ELCEN) announced that, starting Monday, the Grozăvești Combined Heat and Power (CHP) Plant has resumed electricity generation with the restart of its cogeneration unit, supplying approximately 30 MW to Romania’s National Power System (SEN). Bucharest South CHP Plant is also operating with a Hot Water Boiler (HWB), producing approximately 60 Gcal. At the same time, ELCEN is carrying out the technical and operational preparations required to restart the Progresu CHP Plant by mid-August. This measure will further enhance the flexibility and reliability of both Bucharest’s district heating system and Romania’s National Power System. “The declaration of a national energy alert places us in an extremely challenging situation, where every additional megawatt injected into the National Power System is crucial for preventing imbalances.
