Crews were called to an incident in a garden off Mayfield Road shortly after 2pm. The blaze involved a hedgerow and a fence and firefighters extinguished it using hose reel jets. An eyewitness said the alarm was raised by neighbours and the fire was quickly spreading to the house. The eyewitness said emergency teams were swiftly at the scene and the fire could have been a lot worse.
