He told officers that he had been away in Thailand for a few weeks on his own and that he had two suitcases. When the suitcases were searched, officers located 32 black packages of cannabis, which weighed a total of 36.55 kilograms. The 36-year-old told officers he was also travelling alone and had been asked to carry the suitcases full of class B drugs for ‘someone else’. A further 32 black packages were found inside his suitcases, which contained a total of 36.9 kilograms of cannabis. Just last year, around 900 passengers were caught with a combined total of 30 tons of cannabis after attempting to import it from Thailand to the UK.
