The Chicago Cubs have landed a blockbuster trade, reportedly acquiring pitcher Clay Holmes from the New York Mets. According to MLB Network’s Jon Heyman and other reports, the Cubs will acquire Holmes and outfielder Tyrone Taylor from the Mets in exchange for highly touted prospect Jefferson Rojas. He has 45 strikeouts in 52.2 innings, and was considered one of the top available arms on the trade market. Taylor has appeared in 67 games for the Mets this season, with 10 home runs and 28 RBI’s in those games. He is slashing .241/.290/.503, giving the Cubs a bit of additional pop in their lineup as they enter the stretch run.
