The incident happened between the Llanddarog junction and Nantycaws, with the westbound slip road also affected. According to AA Traffic Cameras, delays of six minutes were reported on the A48 westbound between the A48 and A40 at the Pensarn roundabout, with vehicles moving at an average speed of just 10 mph. At 5.14pm, similar delays of six minutes were recorded on the eastbound side of the A48 between the A48 and M4 J49 at Pont Abraham roundabout, with average speeds again at 10 mph. Heavy traffic was also reported approaching Pensarn during the disruption. No further details about the broken-down vehicle have been released.
