Now Rank and her four colleagues have been recognized for making history as the first judicial circuit in South Dakota composed entirely of women judges. The student-led organization selected the Sixth Judicial Circuit judges not only for their historic makeup but also for the example they set through leadership, integrity, and mentorship. The Sixth Judicial Circuit bench includes Presiding Judge Christina Klinger, Circuit Judges Bridget Mayer, Margo Northrup and Bobbi Rank, and Magistrate Judge Tara Adamski, who serve 13 central South Dakota counties. Kristi Noem appointed Klinger, Mayer and Northrup to the circuit bench, while the South Dakota Supreme Court appointed Adamski as magistrate judge, making the Sixth Judicial Circuit the first all-female judicial circuit in state history. A photograph of South Dakota's Sixth Judicial Circuit judges hangs in the South Dakota State Capitol and in each courthouse throughout the Sixth Judicial Circuit, recognizing the state's first all-female judicial circuit.
