Swansea City is pleased to announce the signing of defender Tiago Parente on a season-long loan from Benfica, subject to the relevant clearance. The deal also includes an option to buy the Portugal age-grade international, who has come through the academy ranks at Estadio da Luz. “We are pleased to bring in Tiago to provide us with competition and another option in the left-back position,” said head coach Vitor Matos. “He is a talented young player who is excited by the chance to test himself in a different environment, we are happy to have him here and look forward to bringing him into our squad.” Swansea City sporting director Ben Stevens, added: “We are extremely happy that Tiago has agreed to join us, and he arrives from a club in Benfica who historically have produced very talented young players.
