Three13, based in Hendon, Sunderland, is growing its hospitality and carpentry training thanks to a £10,000 grant from The Bernicia Foundation. Three13 operates across Teesside and Tyne and Wear, but the new funding is focused on its Sunderland site. In the past year, the charity has supported 200 learners, helping them achieve 276 recognised vocational qualifications. The charity has used the grant to run additional multi-skills courses in May and June, creating 11 new training places. The next group of Three13 learners will support a Washington based project by helping refurbish a double decker bus.
