LAGOS, Nigeria — Starbase Technologies has launched Yolly, a social entertainment platform that rewards users for watching, streaming and creating digital content. The company announced the launch in a statement, describing Yolly as part of its effort to give viewers, creators and brands a share of the value generated through their participation in online communities. Unlike platforms that require creators to reach a specified number of followers before qualifying for monetisation, Yolly allows creators to begin earning from their first stream. Emeka Okenwa, Head of Business at Yolly, said the platform’s reward system was designed to give a wider range of participants access to opportunities in the creator economy. He said Yolly would prioritise wholesome and family-oriented material while providing an environment where users, creators and businesses can interact.
