Investing.com -- Cloudflare CEO Matthew Prince has publicly opposed Vail Resorts' appointment of MGM Resorts International chief Bill Hornbuckle to its board, as Prince's $500 million offer to acquire Park City Mountain Resort keeps tensions elevated between the ski giant and its most vocal outside critic.
Vail Resorts (NYSE: MTN) announced on July 30, 2026 that Hornbuckle would join as its tenth board member, effective August 3, 2026.
Prince, a Park City native who worked as a ski instructor there in the mid-1990s before co-founding Cloudflare, has waged a sustained campaign arguing Vail chronically underinvests in lift infrastructure, snowmaking, and worker compensation at Park City.
Vail has firmly rejected that premise, stating Park City Mountain is not for sale and pointing to $121 million in capital investment at the resort since 2016.
"Bill is an accomplished hospitality leader with deep experience operating world-class resorts, building guest loyalty and elevating service," Vail Resorts CEO Rob Katz said in the July 30 announcement.
