Wambani Valerie is a graduate of the University of Nairobi with a bachelor's degree in surgery. The road from admission to qualification was far from smooth, and Wambani was candid about that reality. She described completing medical school, surviving the demands of an internship and eventually clearing the requirements to practise as a Medical Officer as a process that called for resilience, patience and persistence in equal measure. Rather than resting on those achievements, she is already setting her sights on the next horizon.
