WORTHINGTON — Westminster Presbyterian Church will host its 37th annual free backpack and school supply event from 9 a.m. to noon Aug. 13. The event provides supplies for Nobles County students in Kindergarten through fifth grade so that all children are prepared for the new school year. ADVERTISEMENTWestminster Presbyterian Treasurer and co-chair of the backpack program Norma Cook said last year's event provided 658 children with backpacks. The event is sponsored by Westminster Presbyterian Church, local merchants, churches, civic groups and individuals. Donations may be mailed to WPC Backpacks at 500 Stower Dr., Worthington, MN 56187.
