The recognition carries special meaning because in 1993, Matt's parents, John and Gloria Widboom, were also named Nobles County Farm Family of the Year. "When turkeys got to walk downtown for Turkey Day, a lot of them came from this farm," Matt said. Charley will show both a calf and a pig at the Nobles County Fair this week. He previously served as a Worthington Township supervisor and Nobles County commissioner and now serves on the Worthington District 518 School Board. The Widbooms see the Nobles County Farm Family of the Year honor as a recognition not only of their own work but of the generations who came before them and those who may someday follow.
