SAINT PAUL — In a press release issued late Friday, the Office of the Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison announced that Jamie Lee Voelker has pleaded guilty to second-degree murder and first-degree burglary.
The charges are related to an incident on July 23, 2025 in Windom when Voelker shot his mother, who died from the injuries, and then broke into a neighbor’s residence.
“Voelker’s crimes shock the conscience, and my heart breaks for the victim’s friends and loved ones,” said Ellison.
“The guilty pleas we secured will ensure Voelker faces justice for his actions.
I have no tolerance for anyone who would harm others, and I will continue to partner with law enforcement to hold such offenders accountable.”
