When people ask what my hobbies are, I tell them that I love watching movies, but I also include a disclaimer that I probably watch too many. I can remember waking up early, before my parents, and asking them if I could put in a VHS tape. The word VHS tape may be surprising, or, perhaps, totally unheard of for some readers. One of my coworkers has even been quoted as saying, “I didn’t know people your age knew what a VHS tape is.” Of course, when I say “movie-goer,” what I really mean is movie-viewer, because the actual act of going to the movie theater is becoming rare.
