Two women have died after a two-vehicle collision Monday on Highway 401 near Gananoque, Ont., according to the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP). Emergency crews responded to the collision in the westbound lanes shortly after 12:30 a.m., police reported later Monday morning in a press release. OPP said that their initial investigation indicates that a transport truck was stopped, with safety cones out, on the right shoulder and then was struck by a passenger vehicle. The driver of the transport truck did not report any injuries and was not transported to hospital, police said.
