FARGO, N.D. — Bemidji High School tennis stars Owen Lappinga and Blake Friese are keeping busy during the summer.
The two competed in the USTA Level 6 Red River Junior Open in Fargo, North Dakota, July 31 through Aug. 2.
Lappinga took first place out of 16 competitiors in the 18U division, and paired with Friese, the duo won the consolation championship in 18U doubles.
ADVERTISEMENTLappinga went 4-0 in the singles 18U division en routh to first place.
After dropping their first match in 18U doubles, Friese and Lappinga went on a run, winning their last three matches to take home the consolation prize.
