The North Face has quietly closed its outlet store in Berkeley, CA, according to local reports. The store closed on July 12, according to Berkeleyside. KTVU noted that The North Face’s only presence in the Greater Bay Area is its store locations in Livermore and Pleasanton. North Face was founded in San Francisco in 1966 and relocated to Berkeley in 1968 after Kenneth “Hap” Klopp acquired the business in 1968. VF acquired The North Face in 2000.
