The property was purchased with funding support from The Endowment and New Hanover County, and is intended for use as a public park and open space. City officials said the park will feature a mix of preserved natural areas and future amenities, with the final design guided by community input, environmental conditions and long-term planning. Officials said additional opportunities for public input will be available after a design firm is selected, allowing residents to continue providing feedback as plans for the park move forward. Residents interested in participating in the current planning process are encouraged to complete the online survey before it closes Friday.
