News from Kāpiti Coast District CouncilKāpiti Coast District Council is asking the community for feedback on its Draft Speed Management Plan 2026–36. The plan replaces the current Speed Management Plan 2023–33, which no longer has legal status following the Government’s introduction of the Land Transport Rule: Setting of Speed Limits 2024. Council’s draft Speed Management Plan sets out 14 proposed speed changes and 49 infrastructure safety improvements for local Kāpiti Coast roads from 2027–30 and beyond. Council manages more than 400km of local roads and shared paths across the district. The Speed Management Plan applies to local roads managed by Council and does not include State Highways.
