Republican Party of Minnesota Chairman Alex Plechash sent a letter to the secretary of state regarding concerns surrounding gubernatorial candidate Mike Lindell’s eligibility to run for office.
The letter, obtained by Hubbard sister station KSTP, asks for clarification on residency requirements for candidates.
It goes on to say the request was “in response to questions about Mike Lindell’s residency as it relates to his eligibility to hold office.”
A spokesperson for the Minnesota Secretary of State says that office doesn’t have jurisdiction to investigate residency issues.
Lindell responded to the letter by saying he has pay stubs proving he has been paying taxes in Minnesota since August of 2025.
