The by-election is scheduled for Thursday, August 27, with polling stations open from 7am until 10pm. The election will fill a vacancy in the Ormsgill ward, where one councillor is to be elected. Applications for postal votes must be submitted by 5pm on Wednesday, August 12, while applications for proxy votes and Voter Authority Certificates must be received by 5pm on Wednesday, August 19. Voters who do not have suitable ID can apply for a Voter Authority Certificate before the deadline.
