Rideau Lakes resident Pat Phillips has won the township’s 2026 Senior of the Year award. The award, overseen by the Ministry of Citizenship and Multiculturalism, was given to Phillips, a well-known local and longtime resident, for her incredible volunteerism, township officials said. June is recognized as Seniors Month in Ontario, and many seniors generously contribute their knowledge, care, and time to build their communities, they added. “This year, through a nomination made by Rideau Lakes council, Phillips is the well-deserved recipient of this prestigious award,” said township officials. During the presentation, Mayor Arie Hoogenboom thanked Phillips for her years of volunteer efforts in the community.
