A 23-year-old man drowned while attempting to rescue a woman who had slipped into a pond in Rarieda Sub-County, Siaya County. According to police, the incident occurred at about 10.30 a.m. on Monday at a pond in Masala Village, Masala Sublocation. Preliminary investigations indicate that a woman was fetching water when she slipped and fell into the pond. Brian Oticha Odhiambo and another man reportedly rushed to rescue her. The deceased reportedly attempted to calm his son down, but the suspect allegedly turned on him and stabbed him several times in the back.
