Guwahati, Aug 4: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Tuesday said the state government was committed to ensuring a structured and comprehensive rehabilitation process for flood-affected families, following his visit to some of the worst-hit areas in the state.
He also stressed the need for a coordinated approach to restoring damaged infrastructure, rebuilding homes and reviving livelihoods.
Various departments have been directed to expedite the restoration of roads, bridges, electricity and drinking water supply in the affected areas.
The Assam State Disaster Management Authority (ASDMA), along with district administrations, has been monitoring the flood situation and coordinating relief operations.
While water levels have receded in most areas, several villages continue to face the impact of damaged infrastructure and agricultural losses.
