Iran is insisting the United States carries out the peace deal it had agreed. ‘I believe this memorandum will be the centre of gravity of our foreign relations in the future. From the outset, Iran said the MoU was a clear demonstration of the Islamic Republic’s strength and the failure of the enemy’s military and economic pressure. ‘The understanding with Oman regarding a new shipping lane is solely a prerequisite for regulating maritime traffic. ‘The Strait remains closed because of American treaty-breaking, the naval blockade of Iran, and the series of disruptive actions Washington has carried out against the Islamic Republic.’
