Heathwaite Football Club in Windermere has been paying tribute to Tony Jackson, 75, who recently stood down as the club’s long-time secretary and treasurer.
Talking about Mr Jackson’s generous spirit, Mr Barnes, said: “If you ever wanted a hand, he would give you a hand.
Asked about how much he is going to miss being as involved at the club, Mr Jackson said: “I think quite a bit, really.
Despite his time as club secretary and treasurer coming to an end, Mr Jackson will not be saying a full goodbye to Heathwaite FC.
“He is always there if we need any information,” said Mr Barnes, the chairman, explaining that the former volunteer is always still welcome at the club anytime.
