Coniston Fire Station organised the latest training session on Tuesday, July 28.
A spokesperson said: "It was an important drill in rural fire fighting because hydrants are not always available.
"We utilised the light portable pump (LPP) to access water from an open source, and this then feeds the main pump."
Those thinking of becoming an on-call firefighter are invited to attend the open night on August 4 to learn more about the career.
Eligible recruits must live or work within five minutes of the station, have a full UK driving licence, and be aged 18 or over.
