A civil engineer came to regret attending a party at a travellers’ site in Inverness after a fight broke out and he was assaulted. But dad of two Michael Wilson then made the mistake of driving while banned from the roads as he left the scene. Inverness Sheriff Court heard that the 33-year-old single man from Northumberland was working in the area when he received the party invite and was unaware that trouble was in store. He admitted driving the vehicle on the A835 road, the A9 at North Kessock, and Longman Road in Inverness on September 30 last year while disqualified from driving. Mr Gowans invited Sheriff Sara Matheson to find an alternative sentence to prison.
