'Visually significant trees' damaged when developer failed to follow planning conditions

A tree preservation order has been slapped on an Inverness property after developers damaged them after failing to follow planning conditions.
Highland Council issued the tree preservation order for garden ground next to Balnafettack House.
The tree preservation order was issued on July 27, but will be open to public representations for 28 days.
Planning permission for the new three-bedroom home, in former garden ground that was previously part of Balnafettack House, was granted earlier this year.
Conditions attached to the planning permission included rulings that “no development, site excavation or groundwork shall commence until all retained trees have been protected against construction damage using protective measures”.
