A 10-mile diversion is in place after Fife Council was forced to close a Lochgelly road due to a collapsed manhole. On Monday, the council confirmed that it has been forced to close Station Road between the train station bridge and the high school. Scottish Water will work on repairing the road, with a diversion in place for drivers. The diversion sends drivers to Ballingry, before turning towards Woodend and Auchterderran, following the B981 back to Lochgelly. The local authority said: “We’ve been alerted to a collapsed manhole chamber in Lochgelly this morning, between the train station bridge and the high school.
