A patient harmed by disgraced ex-NHS Tayside neurosurgeon Sam Eljamel is furious with the Scottish Government following a data breach. Ms Rose was unaware of the breach at the time. And Ms Rose told The Courier she has faced endless hurdles in her bid to uncover more about the breach. A Scottish Government spokesperson said: “The Scottish Government takes data protection and privacy very seriously and is committed to ensuring that the personal data we hold complies with the Data Protection Act and the UK General Data Protection Regulation. In January 2025, The Courier reported that Ms Rose was among more than 100 Eljamel patients whose data was breached by NHS Tayside.
