Barratt Homes has partnered with schools across East Yorkshire, South Yorkshire, and Lincolnshire to encourage pupils to read a book over the summer, complete a short review, and draw their favourite characters. Pupils who return their completed booklets to Barratt’s Stewarts Reach development in Pocklington will receive a prize and the chance to win a family day out at Yorkshire Wildlife Park. The developer has also donated a range of books to the school library to support the scheme. Becky Whincup, a teacher at Pocklington Junior School, said: "We highly value reading at Pocklington Junior School, so it was wonderful to work alongside a company that shares our passion for inspiring children to read." The challenge is part of Barratt’s wider community engagement, supporting literacy and learning among young people across the regions where it operates.
