WASHINGTON — As Rep. Max Miller, R-Ohio, faces allegations of domestic abuse, his fellow House Republicans have mostly stayed on the sidelines and avoided weighing in. Last week, the Democratic Women’s Caucus said the allegations against Miller were “deeply disturbing” and should be investigated by the House Ethics Committee. On July 21, Speaker Mike Johnson said the allegations against Miller were still allegations — not proven to be true or false yet. The House Ethics Committee works on those things. “This is my fear: that the House Ethics Committee becomes kind of a one-stop shop for all things.
