‘A Textbook Example of How Not to Cover Climate Propaganda’
['Bonnie Phillips']

— climate change is really no big deal.
But, the next day, I saw that Newport Buzz had published an uncritical report on the study, titled New Climate Report Challenges Rhode Island Crisis Narrative.
The Buzz’s “coverage” of the Heartland report strikes me as a textbook example of how not to cover climate propaganda.
It didn’t mention that one textbook has called Heartland “a leading think-tank promoting climate change denial” or that Heartland is famous for publicly downplaying the risks of tobacco.
Editorial decisions at Newport Buzz are guided by whether something is newsworthy and whether it can be reported accurately and transparently.
