Queen Camilla has given her backing to a new awards scheme which will offer young journalists prizes of up to £2,500. The Journalists’ Charity, of which Her Majesty is patron, is today launching the Queen Camilla Future of Journalism Awards which will aim to support 25 journalists aged 18-30 each year. The awards will be operated, funded and controlled by the Journalists’ Charity – there is no Royal funding in place. “It’s a privilege to launch this groundbreaking new awards scheme which is set to unlock opportunities for many younger journalists nationwide. The Journalists’ Charity was founded in 1864 by Charles Dickens and was granted a Royal Charter by Queen Victoria in 1890.
